Trainer
MES is modifying Device 14A12(J) located in Yokosuka, Japan. This upgrade will provide enhanced real-time simulation of the combat weapon systems and threats. The trainer provides an extensive reconfigurable training mock-up for ASW procedures and tactics in DD, DDG, FFG, CG, CGN, WHEC, and WMEC ship classes. The Ownship Aircraft that are simulated include the SH-2F and SH-60B, while the Assist Aircraft include the SH-3H, P-3C, and S-3A. The training is conducted as a single ship in a simulated multi-threat environment from mock-ups which are representative of Sonar, CIC, Bridge, and Ownship Aircraft.
Command and Control System Team Trainers MES has provided support for the platform hydraulics overhaul and computer systems rehost for the Trident Ship Control Trainers and Trident Command and Control Trainer as a subcontractor. This modification is designed to improve the performance and fidelity while also minimizing life cycle costs of Trident trainers, and minimize cost of Trident training facilities located in Bangor, Maine, and Kings Bay, Georgia.
Submarine Multi-Mission Team Trainers MES has provided systems engineering services as a subcontractor on the Submarine Multi-Mission Team Trainer (SMMTT, previously known as Device 21B64). These services include design and testing trainer systems to interface with the new Tactical Rapid Cots Insertion (RCI) acoustic display and analysis system. MES is also developing simulation designs for the following major systems: PNB/CLASS LFAR and Full Spectrum; PBB PLOC; and Towed Array Motion Model (TAMM) additions needed for tracking and Latitude/Longitude conversion. |
